1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Parea ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all of these terms, you do not have permission to access the service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Parea.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Your continued use of the platform following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes. We will notify users of material changes via in-app notice or email.
2. Eligibility and User Accounts
To use Parea, you must be at least 18 years of age. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that:
- All registration information you submit is truthful and accurate.
- You will maintain the accuracy of that information.
- Your use of the Service does not violate any applicable law or regulation.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You will notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
3. Acceptable Use
You are solely responsible for any content you post, upload, or make available through Parea. You agree not to:
No Harassment
No bullying, stalking, threats, or discriminatory behavior.
No Spam
No unsolicited commercial messages or repeated disruptive content.
No Illegal Acts
No promoting, facilitating, or engaging in unlawful activity.
No Impersonation
No misrepresenting yourself as another person or entity.
No Location Abuse
No attempting to infer or expose other users' precise locations.
No Automation Abuse
No bots, scrapers, or automated posting without prior written consent.
4. Community Rules
Parea is built for diaspora communities and immigrants to connect meaningfully. All users must:
- Treat other community members with respect regardless of background, nationality, or immigration status.
- Post content that is relevant to the community, event, or place being discussed.
- Respect the ephemeral nature of temporary rooms — do not screenshot or redistribute private room conversations without consent.
- Report content or users that violate these rules rather than retaliating.

5. User Content and Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of content you create. By posting content to the platform, you grant Parea a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display such content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.
The Parea platform, brand, and original features are the exclusive property of Parea. Our trademarks may not be used in connection with any other product or service without prior written consent.
6. Content Moderation Rights
Parea reserves the right, but not the obligation, to monitor and review any content provided by users. We may, at our sole discretion, remove any content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, conduct harmful to other users, or for any other reason at our discretion. Serious violations (e.g., illegal content, threats, impersonation) may result in immediate permanent bans without prior warning.
7. Account Suspension and Termination
- Warnings: Minor first-time violations typically result in a warning and content removal.
- Temporary Suspension: Repeated or moderate violations may result in a temporary account suspension.
- Permanent Ban: Severe violations result in permanent account termination.
- Appeals: You may appeal any moderation action by contacting support@getparea.app within 30 days.
- Data Upon Termination: Upon account deletion, your data is removed per our retention policy in the Privacy Policy.
8. Service Availability
Parea is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any feature) at any time with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant service changes.
9. Liability Limitations
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Parea shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the service.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Parea, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law in the jurisdiction where Parea operates. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
